Bridging Campus and the Workplace: ID FOOD Public Lecture Sparks Enthusiasm and New Collaboration Plans at Agung Putra University (APU)

SEMARANG – The atmosphere at the Auditorium of Agung Putra University (APU) was more vibrant than usual on Saturday, July 4, 2026. Students and lecturers gathered enthusiastically to gain insights directly from the industry through a public lecture with ID FOOD, the state-owned food holding company under PT Rajawali Nusantara Indonesia.

Featuring Mr. Ghimoyo as the main speaker, the event gave participants a better understanding of the realities and dynamics of Indonesia's food industry. Rather than simply presenting theories, he shared practical stories and experiences about the skills and competencies that companies are actually looking for in fresh graduates.

More Than Just a Lecture

Interestingly, ID FOOD's presence at APU, which promotes the vision of Empowering Science Tech, did not stop at knowledge sharing. Agung Putra University quickly turned the event into an opportunity to build a stronger partnership with the industry.

Through the initiative of the Vice Rector for Research and Technology, Dr. Mohammad Annas, APU is currently preparing a draft Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with PT Rajawali Nusantara Indonesia. This strategic step aims to strengthen the implementation of the Tri Dharma of Higher Education in ways that create a direct and meaningful impact for both institutions.

For students, this initiative is certainly an encouraging development. In the future, learning will not be limited to the classroom. Through the proposed partnership, APU and ID FOOD are planning a structured student internship program within the industry.

This means students participating in the program will receive proper support throughout their internship. The university and the company will work together to ensure the availability of internship placements, provide direct guidance from industry professionals, and conduct a clear and measurable evaluation at the end of the program.

In addition to providing practical industry experience, the academic environment on campus is also expected to become more active. Mr. Ghimoyo's presence at the auditorium served as an important first step toward creating more opportunities for interactive discussions in the future.

The two institutions are also planning to organize a series of ongoing academic activities, including seminars, webinars, and collaborative workshops. These activities are expected to provide students with up-to-date knowledge and ensure that their learning remains relevant to current industry developments.

Through this collaboration, APU and ID FOOD aim to create a stronger connection between higher education and the workplace, while providing students with opportunities to develop the knowledge, skills, and practical experience they need to prepare for their future careers.
