Advancing Toward a World-Class University: APU Signs MoUs with Universities in Malaysia and Vietnam

KUALA LUMPUR — Agung Putra University (APU) is taking another major step toward its vision of becoming a world-class university. Over the coming week, an APU delegation is conducting academic visits and signing Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) with universities in Malaysia and Vietnam to develop international collaboration, strategic partnerships, and scientific knowledge exchange.

The visits form part of APU's enrichment program with overseas universities. The planned cooperation covers academic collaboration, student mobility and short programs, faculty collaboration, and capacity building.

The delegation is led by the President of the APU Foundation, Prof. Dr. dr. Agung Putra, M.Si.Med. He is accompanied by Vice Rector III Dr. Mohammad Annas, S.Tr.Par., M.M., CSCP., CHRP.; APU Biomedical Sciences lecturer and Osaka University alumnus Dendi Krisna Nugraha, Ph.D.; Head of APU's Biotechnology Program Nurul Hidayah, S.Si., M.Biotech.; and student representatives.

Academic Visits in Malaysia and Vietnam

The Malaysia agenda begins on October 26, 2026, with a visit to INTI International University for a partnership discussion and MoU signing. On October 27, the delegation will visit MILA University to discuss academic collaboration and sign an MoU.

The Malaysia program concludes on October 28 with a visit to Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) for an MoU signing and strategic network expansion.

In Vietnam, the APU delegation will accept an invitation from Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology to serve as international guest lecturers while pursuing strategic network expansion and another MoU signing.

International Opportunities for Students

APU student representatives will participate in trial classes and international networking activities during a seven-day program at MILA University. APU is also opening opportunities for students from partner universities in Malaysia and Vietnam to undertake internships and study at APU.

“Our academic visit to Malaysia and Vietnam is a concrete step toward becoming a world-class university through international collaboration and strategic partnerships. We want APU students to experience an international atmosphere directly and develop strong global competitiveness by the time they graduate,” Prof. Agung said in Kuala Lumpur on Sunday, October 25.

Continuing APU's International Expansion

APU is also planning collaboration with universities in Japan later this year. The university currently hosts students from the Bioanalytics program at Albstadt-Sigmaringen University, Germany, for a five-month internship focused on stem cell technology and other areas of Biomedical and Biotechnology Sciences.
