Bintang Amin Hospital Lampung Visits SCCR-APU to Discuss Healthcare Services and Research Development
SEMARANG – Agung Putra University (APU) welcomed representatives of Bintang Amin Hospital Lampung on Tuesday, July 14, 2026. The meeting provided an opportunity for both sides to get to know each other and exchange insights on healthcare services, research facilities, and developments in biomedical technology.
The visit took place within the APU environment, which is part of the Stem Cell and Cancer Research (SCCR) Indonesia ecosystem. This ecosystem integrates education, research, and development activities in the healthcare sector.
Exploring Facilities and Activities at SCCR
One of the main activities during the visit was a tour of the Stem Cell and Cancer Research (SCCR) facilities. Representatives from Bintang Amin Hospital Lampung had the opportunity to see the clinical facilities directly and receive an overview of the activities carried out within the SCCR environment.
The visit also included discussions on healthcare services and medical research development. Participants exchanged experiences and perspectives on developments in healthcare technology, patient care needs, and opportunities to advance knowledge in the biomedical field.
Stem cell research was also part of the discussion. The development of this field is one of SCCR Indonesia’s areas of focus through its research and healthcare activities, which have been developed in collaboration with various partners.
This relationship is part of a broader network. SCCR Indonesia has previously established cooperation with several local governments in Lampung in areas such as human resource development, research, and healthcare improvement. In November 2024, for example, the Pringsewu Regency Government signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with SCCR Indonesia covering healthcare human resource development, education and training, and opportunities for joint research.
Part of a Growing Healthcare Network
The relationship between SCCR Indonesia, APU, and Lampung was also highlighted again in May 2026. At that time, the Lampung Provincial Government explored potential cooperation with SCCR Indonesia and APU in developing human resources in biotechnology and biomedicine. One of the proposals discussed was a scholarship program for prospective students from Lampung to pursue their education at APU through collaboration with SCCR Indonesia.
Previously, in May 2025, the Lampung Provincial Government also signed an MoU with SCCR Indonesia to strengthen the healthcare sector, including the development of stem cell and secretome services and cancer care. The cooperation also included discussions on plans to develop a satellite laboratory in Lampung.
In this context, the visit by Bintang Amin Hospital Lampung to the SCCR-APU environment was part of a series of interactions that further connect healthcare institutions in Lampung with the research and education ecosystem developed by SCCR Indonesia and APU.
Although the July 14, 2026 visit was still at the stage of an initial meeting and relationship-building, it opened a channel for communication between the two parties. In the future, this relationship may provide a basis for exploring potential areas of cooperation according to the needs of each institution, including healthcare services, human resource development, and medical research.
