Coordinating Minister Pratikno Opens APU PKKMB 2026 with Local and International Students

Semarang — The Introduction to Campus Life for New Students (PKKMB) at Agung Putra University (APU) officially opened on Tuesday (September 1, 2026), at the APU Campus in Gunungpati, Semarang.

On the first day of the program, new students had the opportunity to hear directly from the Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Cultural Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia, Prof. Pratikno.

In his presentation, Prof. Pratikno emphasized the importance of adaptability and innovation in an era of disruption characterized by uncertainty.

"In facing future challenges, students must possess innovation and agility, as demonstrated by SCCR and APU. Students need to have broad perspectives, keep learning, and apply the concepts of a growth mindset and T-Shaped Theory," said Pratikno.

The Coordinating Minister also praised APU’s new students for their diverse talents, ranging from proficiency in multiple foreign languages to a strong interest in strategic fields of study.

"Through my direct interactions with the students, I found that many of them speak more than one foreign language besides English. Leading study programs here, such as Biomedical Science and Biotechnology, have been chosen by students with a sincere desire to contribute to society,” he added.

President of the APU Foundation, Prof. Dr. dr. Agung Putra, M.Si.Med., welcomed the guidance and insights delivered by the Coordinating Minister. According to him, the insights shared by Prof. Pratikno strongly align with APU’s vision and mission.

"His presence was truly inspiring. His ideas and perspectives are highly relevant to our vision of becoming a university driven by science and technology that develops outstanding human resources to help realize a Golden Indonesia," said Prof. Agung.

International Students from Germany Join the Program

The 2026 APU PKKMB is particularly special this year, with international students from Albstadt-Sigmaringen University in Germany taking part in the program. The international students will undertake a five-month internship program at SCCR Indonesia and the APU Campus.

"We are very proud of this collaboration. Albstadt-Sigmaringen University has entrusted its students to deepen their knowledge of stem cell science, genetic engineering, and informatics at APU and SCCR over the next five months," concluded Prof. Agung.
