Day Two of APU PKKMB: Singaporean Entrepreneur Highlights the Importance of International Networking for Students

Semarang – The second day of the New Student Campus Life Orientation Program (PKKMB) at Agung Putra University (APU) was held at the APU Campus Auditorium in Gunungpati, Semarang, on Wednesday (2 September). The event featured an international speaker.

Following the first day, which featured Indonesian Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Cultural Affairs Prof. Pratikno, APU welcomed Thomas Ting, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of TT Innovation and Technology Pte Ltd, a research and technology company from Singapore.

A Good Choice for the Future of Healthcare

In his presentation, Thomas Ting expressed his appreciation for APU's focus on academic development. He said that choosing APU for higher education was a good decision for new students who want to prepare themselves for the challenges of future industries.

He also highlighted the global relevance and competitive advantage of the innovations developed by APU in collaboration with Stem Cell and Cancer Research (SCCR) Indonesia in the fields of biomedical science and biotechnology.

"The biomedical science and biotechnology developed by SCCR and APU are highly relevant to industry needs. In Singapore, access to stem cells is not easy, even though the country has advanced technology and a strong economy. Studying at APU is a good decision because the university has one of the leading research centers in this field," said Thomas.

In addition to discussing the potential of the biotechnology industry, Thomas shared his views on the key soft skills students need to succeed on the global stage. One of the most important skills is the ability to build professional networks at both local and international levels.

"Students need to build broad networks, both locally and internationally, because no one achieves success alone. Most importantly, maintain professionalism, uphold integrity, and be a good partner to everyone," he added.

In the future, APU will continue to invite experienced professionals and international experts so that students can gain knowledge directly from qualified experts.
