SEMARANG - Exchange students from Albstadt-Sigmaringen University, Germany, visited Sekolah Karangturi in Semarang on September 11, 2026, as part of a community outreach activity facilitated by the International Office of Agung Putra University (APU).

The visit brought the international students together with students from the Chemistry and English classes at Sekolah Karangturi, creating an opportunity for both groups to interact, exchange stories, and learn more about each other's educational and cultural backgrounds.

Sharing Stories Across Cultures

One highlight of the visit was the interaction between the German exchange students and Sekolah Karangturi students. They discussed the exchange students' experiences in Indonesia, from impressions of daily life to cultural encounters.

Karangturi students also asked about differences between education and culture in Germany and Indonesia. Their questions opened a lively exchange of perspectives about school life, learning environments, and cultural experiences in both countries.

For the German exchange students, the conversation offered a chance to reflect on their experiences in Indonesia while learning about Indonesian students' perspectives. Karangturi students gained a more direct understanding of Germany through conversations with students familiar with its education and culture.

A Closer Look at Student Life in Indonesia

Beyond questions and answers, the visit allowed the international students to experience the environment at Sekolah Karangturi and interact with local students in a more informal setting.

The interaction demonstrated how community outreach can become an important part of an international student's experience. Meeting local students offers perspectives on the host country that may not be encountered within a university setting.

For Sekolah Karangturi students, the visit offered an opportunity to engage directly with international students and broaden their understanding of life and education beyond Indonesia.

The visit to Sekolah Karangturi provided a meaningful setting for international and local students to connect, share experiences, and gain new perspectives on education and culture. Through community outreach activities, APU's International Office continues to help exchange students engage with the local community and experience Indonesia beyond the university campus.
